Shelia M. Fulton was born and reared in Durham, NC. As a young teenager she moved with her family to Northern Virginia where she attended TC Williams High School. While attending high school she met and later married her husband of over thirty (30) years, (Pastor) J. Malcolm Fulton. After her marriage, Sister Fulton relocated with her husband to Jacksonville, NC where they had three children, Elisha, Stephen and Octavia. As the wife of a United States Marine and with three growing children the challenges were many and times apart, difficult, but it was God's mercy and grace that kept her.
Sister Fulton has an extensive background in the health care field with a combined experience of over twenty-five (25) years as a nursing assistant and dialysis technician. She also, earned an associates degree as a medical office assistant from Rutledge Community College in North Carolina. Sister Fulton is, as she always has been, actively involved in both her church and community. She has been licensed as a minister and missionary and is thus able to preach and teach the word of God as well as provide help and support to the sick and infirmed. She has served as a baptism committee member, Usher board member, choir member and Sunday school teacher. She has served as a leader and director of the Pulpit Aides and Assistants, Vacation Bible School, Health Care Professionals, Nursing Home Ministry and Church Anniversary Committee. She has joined with her husband in ministering and counseling of married couples, critically ill, sick and infirmed, incarcerated and troubled youth and their parents.
She is a minister in her own right as well as an able support and compliment to her husband as he is to her. Sister Fulton is committed to God and his purpose for her life. Though a capable administrator, Sister Fulton enjoys the more personal side of the ministry which involves support and encouragement to the most vulnerable; the young, elderly, brokenhearted, and the physically and/or mentally infirmed. She believes that her calling is sure, her vision clear and her purpose undeniable.
